New Year’s Resolutions: Keeping, Breaking, or Evolving Them By Hayley Servatius, VLI

Inspiration for a timeless home design remodel in Denver

The New Year is a time for fresh starts, bold goals, and a little reflection. By now, you’ve likely made some resolutions—and perhaps you’ve already kept them, adjusted them, or quietly set them aside. As January rolls along, I like to check in with myself and my clients to see how those resolutions are faring.

Personally, I’ve set some goals that are as much about simplifying life as they are about enhancing it. First up? Tackling my linen and clothing closets. Decluttering has been at the top of my list, and it feels amazing to create order in spaces that often get overlooked. Clearing out what no longer serves me is not just about organizing—it’s about creating space for the things that truly bring joy and function.

As the owner of Vintage Lane Interiors, I’ve also decided to embrace more color in my design work this year. Neutrals will always have their place in timeless interiors, but I believe color has a way of breathing life and personality into a space. Whether it’s a rich jewel tone on an accent wall or vibrant accessories, I’m ready to let color shine in my projects.

Another resolution is to lean into the beauty of traditional layering when accessorizing spaces. Timeless accessories—like vintage vases, sculptural objects, and heirloom-quality textiles—add depth and personality to homes. My goal is to curate spaces for my clients (and myself!) that feel collected and enduring, rather than just on-trend.

At Vintage Lane Interiors, we believe that your home should tell your story. Whether it’s through color, layers, or even a beautifully organized closet, every space can reflect who you are and where you’re headed.

So, how are your resolutions shaping up? Are you sticking to them, revising them, or letting them evolve? Wherever you are in the process, remember this: growth doesn’t have to be perfect—it just has to be yours.

Here’s to fresh starts, bold ideas, and a year of beautiful, meaningful spaces.

Warmly,

Hayley Servatius
